Get up close and personal with Quechua farmers as you learn ancient Incan farming techniques. Learn and participate in traditional music and dance. Try on stunning garments woven by the local women. As we teach you our community’s history and feed you the delicious local fare, you’ll begin to imagine what ancient Incan life was like.

We will begin at 5:00am where we will pick you up directly from your hotel and drive 2,5 hours passing by remote andean communities where there is no modern technology.
You are guided by a direct local tour operator in small groups, you eat the best fresh local meals. Breakfast will be prepared and served before you start the andean farming demostration and the team will be introduced at that time. After breakfast, we will visit a Choquecancha villagers farm nearby.

The time here will be filled with fun as you:

  • Learn about Andean agriculture
  • See how music and dance are incorporated into the fabric of Andean farming culture
  • Drink chicha, learn the importance of the sacred drink, and learn proper Andean drinking etiquette
  • Try on clothing weaved by local Choquecancha women
  • Lunch featuring traditional Andean food

And you enjoy the natural hot spring at the end before you back to your hotel in Cusco.

 

Machu Picchu Visitors on Second Day only;

Will take our private transport to Ollantaytambo with your guide where you will check in at your hotel.

Next Day:

You will be picked up from your hotel at 5:40 a.m. Following, we will go to the train station and leave on the 6:10 am. train, from Ollantaytambo. The train follows the Urubamba River, until we reach Aguas Calientes town. Along the way, you will see spectacular views of the farmlands, snow-capped mountains and the mighty Urubamba River, one of the sources of the Amazon River.

You will arrive to Aguas Calientes at around 7:30 am and your guide will transfer you to Machu Picchu on the shuttle bus. Following you will be visiting the famous Sacred City of the Incas,  your tour guide will take you to the best views before the guiding tour.

Then, we will start the guided walking tour, exploring all of the famous places of this impressive Inca citadel: Temple of the Sun, Royal Tomb, The Intihuatana (sun dial rock), Main Plaza, The Temple of the 3 Windows, The Artisan area, Temple of Condor and many others. After the guided tour, you will have time to explore the Machu Picchu on your own.

At around 2:30 or 3 p.m., you will need to take the bus back down to Aguas Calientes to enjoy lunch at one of the several restaurants there. Be sure to arrive at the train station 30 minutes before the train departure.  The train schedule is usually about 4:20 at the afternoon to Ollantaytambo, where you will catch our private transportation for another an hour half drive back to Cusco city. If you care to upgrade to the Vistadome train, then you will have the choice to depart at either 3:20 p.m. or 5:20 p.m. Both Vistadome trains take you to Poroy station, where our driver will collect you and transfer you back to your hotel in Cusco.
