4 Day Machu Picchu Tour

The 4 Day Machu Picchu Package tour take travelers visiting the most beautiful areas in Cusco region, such as Cusco citySacred Valley of the IncasMoray Maras (salt mines) and Machu Picchu.

Our 4 Day tour takes you on a journey by car and train to Machu Picchu.

You will have an in-depth look at Cusco andes, the first day explorer Cusco city the archaeological capital of America visiting such as San Pedro Market, cathedral of Cusco, the majestic Inca site of Sacsayhuaman with enigmatic 200 ton monoliths, following day Sacred valley of the incas, pisac, ollantaytambo, awanacancha llama farm, chinchero.

Third day maras – salt mines and moray the incan agriculture laboratory, in the afternoon train ride to Aguas Calientes where you will see impressive views of inca terraces still used by the villagers and andes snow-capped mountains and the next day visit one of the new 7 wonders of the world Machu Picchu.

Day 1: Cusco City tour – Half day

At 8:30 a.m. or 12:30 p.m., the tour guide will meet you at your hotel in Cusco to begin the tour. From here, you’ll head to Plaza de Armas, where you will visit the famous cathedral of Cusco. Following, you’ll continue walking through an ancient Inca-built street from the Plaza de Armas to the Q’oricancha sunTemple. At the Q’oricancha you will be able to compare and contrast the building methods of the Inka culture and Catholicism. It’s was the key spiritual center of the Inkas, which leads to all 4 quarters of the Inka Empire. You’ll see also a bronze, high altar to be seen.

From Q’oricancha, your group will go to the famous San Pedro market, where you’ll take our private transport for 25 minutes outside of the city. You will be taken to the majestic Inka site, Sacsayhuaman with enigmatic, 200 ton monoliths, Your guide will explain about it and then, you will be able to explore on your own the site.

From Sacsayhuaman, you will take a 5 minutes ride to the Q’enqo Inka site to see the fascinating Incan altars. Following, you will take another 10 minutes drive to Puca Pucara, a small, circular Inka site. The final visiting site on your tour is Tambomachay, a water temple with impressive water fountains, according the history it was used by the Inka for bathing. We will then drive back down to Cuzco city where the tour ends in the main square or we will return you to your hotel.

Day 2: Sacred Valley of the Incas – Full Day

We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at eight morning. You and your guide will take our private transport to the first stop, the “Manos de la Comunidad” Llama farm. Here, you will see the traditional animals of the Incas: llamas, alpacas, vicuña, and guanaco. Your guide will give you background information, show you a potato display and a textile center, showing how the wools are woven and colored. Good quality alpaca wool will be for sale. Then, will drive to the Lookout Point of sacred valley, for beautiful views and photos. Following, we are going to continue the journey up to the Pisac Inca site, situated on top of Pisac Mountain within the Sacred valley. Your tour guide will take you to the most impressive spots and guided. Then, we’ll drive along the Vilcanota sacred valley river for about forty five minutes, till we arrive to Urubamba town, where we’ll stop for lunch (not Included). You will have an incredible selection of fresh meals, served buffet-style, served buffet-style.

After lunch will drive up to visit the inkan agriculture laboratory in Moray. This beautiful drive is about 30 minutes. On your drive, you’ll see the snow-capped peaks of the Andes, lush yellow fields of wheat, and some villages. Finally, you will arrive at the fascinating display of terraces of Moray, its boasts three amphitheater-like terraces, made by the Inkas. Those terraces, which are carved deep into the earth, in the shape of a bowl, were thought to be used to determine the optimal conditions for growing crops.
When you are done exploring Moray, you will head to Chinchero archeological site. The black soil of Chinchero is some of the most rich and fertile in the Sacred Valley. The land is used to produce excellent potatoes as it was in the Inca times. Finally return to your hotel in Cusco around 6pm

Day 3: Maras (Salt mines) – Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes

It’s a fantastic tour that exploring the amazing salt mines in Maras and agriculture laboratory in Moray. You’ll see amazing views of the Andean mountain ranges.

We will pick you up from your hotel around 8 a.m. and head to the salt mines of Maras. The village is known as a former salt-producing center in Cusco and is thought to date back all the way to pre-inkan time. There are over 3,000 salt pools carved within the mountain side, that are filled daily by a stream of water. This beautiful area is perfect for you if you wish to visit something different than the ruins. 

Following we will drive to Ollantaytambowe, where the second heaviest Inca monoliths are to be found. The ruins have an incredible Temple of the Sun, Moon, and also the Temple of the ten Niches. This living Inca village displays narrow walkways, lined with water channels.

After exploring and Lunch in Ollantaytambo will walk to the train station from where we will depart on the afternoon train. the train schedule will depend on how far in advance you are booking and/or the availability of the train, the train trip to Aguas Calientes is just under two hours. The train follows the Urubamba sacred valley River, until we reach Aguas Calientes. Along the way, you’ll see spectacular views of farmlands, snow-capped mountains and the mighty Urubamba River, one of the sources of the Amazon River.

Day 4: Machu Picchu and Train Journey Back

Today you will visit Machu Picchu. You will be visiting the new 7 wonders of the world Machu Picchu, the crystal city of the Inka civilization. You will confirm, together with your guide, the best time to start out the day according your entrances ticket.

Most people prefer to rise at 5 a.m. walk to the bus station to take one of the first buses up to Machu Picchu. It will be nice to go to the ruins as soon as they open, at 6 a.m., to catch the magical mists on the site because the sun rises. after a twenty 5 minute bus ride to Machu Picchu, your guide can take you to the best views before the day trippers arrive. Then, we are going to begin the 3 hour guided walking tour, exploring all of the famous sites of this spectacular inka citadel: The Sun Temple, The Royal spot, The Intihuatana (sun dial rock), Main Plaza, Temple of the three Windows, The trained worker Sector, the Temple of the Condor and lots of others. after the tour, you’ll have time to explore Machu Picchu again on your own. If you’ve booked permits to climb Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, you’ll head to that adventure. At around 1 pm you’ll need to take the bus back down to Aguas Calientes to enjoy lunch at one of the several restaurants there.
Be sure to arrive at the train station 30 minutes before your departure. The train schedule to Ollantaytambo depend on according how long before you book, where you will catch our private transportation for another two hour drive back to your hotel in Cusco.
